The bonding is inspired by the historical context of Taoyuan: in the early days, the peach blossoms were in full bloom, and the place was named “Taoyuan”. In recent years, from its significant geographical location, the city has become a transportation hub connecting the international community. Therefore, the organic pattern of the work is a combination of the peach tree leaf shape, the Taoyuan road network, and the outline of the map, so as to connect the development track in the field.
This work represents the landscape of Taoyuan during the day, while at night it visualizes the usage of parking lots by analyzing the real-time data and applying different lightings; the red tone means fewer parking spaces, and the green tone indicates plenty of spaces left. There will be performances based on Taoyuan’s new vision for traffic growth on the hours, which echoes the development goal of Taoyuan towards a smart city.
