Since the Tang Dynasty, the successful candidates in civil examinations at the provincial capital had been provided with “Lu-Ming Feast”. The word “Lu-Ming” means to welcome talented people and to expect the superior new coming ones. One side of this work is a horn of a deer which is a metaphor of “Lu-Ming”; on the other side are plum flowers which represent arbutus. The work, Macon Lu-Ming, has expectations of our students being moral and having practical abilities, so that the students may lead better lives. Near the gate of the school are trees with branches which spread out gracefully. The trapezoidal steel bars are set in a front and back pattern. These neat and simple lines create a visual feast as well as a sense of modernity.
