《發現台灣密碼》以「台灣意象」作為創作最重要的內容，仿擬臺灣古蹟文物的特質，以淺浮雕彩繪的多彩樣貌，同時讓當代臺灣多元文化的符號巧妙地在組件式的作品中呈現，將當代文化相對於過去歷史的詮釋轉化成為當下文化現象的解碼。作品展現了台灣自然生態、飲食文化、種族融合、尊重多元文化傳統、豐富民俗活動的慶典與科技業的興盛等意涵。也象徵著吉祥、美好及臺灣精緻文化的樸實雅風。
Taiwan’s imagery is essential in the creative content of “Formosa Code Uncovered”. Using the colorful appearance of bas-relief, simulacra of characteristic historical Formosan artifacts artfully present multicultural symbols of contemporary Taiwan in the series of work. Contemporary interpretations of historicity are transformed into a decoding of present cultural phenomena. The work alludes to Taiwan’s natural ecology, cuisine, ethnic integration, tradition of respecting cultural diversity, a celebration of the wealth of folk activities and thriving technological industries; while presenting symbols of joyous tidings and reflecting the simple elegance of Taiwan’s refined culture.
